Incineration
Incineration is the high temperature waste treatment process, at a temperature of 1,100c, which turns waste materials into ash. The heat which is generated by high temperature incineration can often be used to generate electric.
Incineration with energy recovery is a waste to energy technology such as anaerobic digestion. It may also be used without energy recovery in mind.
Typical examples of waste disposed of through Incineration:
- Spent absorbants
- Flammable and non flammable resins
- Oxidizers
- Toxic waste
- Fuel oil
- Contaminated rags and ppe
- Contaminated soil
- Bitumen material
- Herbicides/Pesticides/Insecticides
